Denise Fowler, Human Resources Business Partner Associate

Denise Fowler ’88 knows that even the well qualified staff here at the University of West Georgia sometimes needs a helping hand.

“My job duties include primarily supporting staff, but also providing support, as needed, for other areas, such as faculty and students, as it relates to employment services to include applicant process, new employee onboarding, and employee relations,” Denise said.

Denise Fowler, Human Resources Business Partner AssociateBorn in Bremen, Georgia, Denise is married with two children. Her husband and mother are both UWG alums, her daughter graduated from the University of Georgia, and her son is considering attending UWG.

“UWG is a family tradition, and we are all a proud part of the University System of Georgia,” Denise said.

Since graduating from UWG with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1988, Denise has grown an impressive resume.

“Before becoming a part of UWG, I was employed by Automatic Data Processing, LLC (ADP) for 26 years,” Denise said. “I held many positions there, but most of my tenure was in Human Resources and employee and client training.”

While still with ADP, Denise moved back to Carrollton to raise her kids in this community in 1999.

“Carrollton is big enough to offer everything we need; yet small enough to still have a ‘close knit’ community feel to it,” Denise said. “Since I have been working here at UWG, I have noticed the friendliness of everyone who works here. UWG employees are very welcoming and it has been a fun and rewarding place to work. I love the strategy, mission and values of the University and am very proud to be a part of it.”

Denise started working with UWG this April, and shows no signs of relocation anytime soon.

“The reputation of UWG in the community is one where everyone would love to work,” Denise concluded. “I am so proud to say that now…. I do!”
