UWG Center for Adult Learners and Veterans Grand Opening on Veterans DayThe University of West Georgia, home to over 3000 adult students and veterans or their dependents, is opening a new Center for Adult Learners and Veterans on campus. The UWG Center for Adult Learners and Veterans is a dedicated space where adult learners (25 or older) and veterans or dependants of veterans can have questions answered on topics ranging from military education benefits to networking opportunities. The Center for Adult Learners and Veterans aims to support non-traditional and veteran students in achieving their academic goals.

The official dedication ceremony and grand opening of the Center for Adult Learners and Veterans will take place on Tuesday, November 11 at 3:30 p.m. (EST) in the University Community Center. UWG President Dr. Kyle Marrero, Senator Mike Dugan, USG Director of Military Affairs Dr. Dave Snow, USG Director of PRISM Public Awareness Roseland Barnes Fowler, and a representative from the UWG Student Veterans Association will be in attendance and providing remarks.

Following a 7:30 - 9:00 a.m. breakfast for veteran students, faculty, and staff hosted by the UWG Student Veterans Association, the Center will host a daylong open house from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Located on the second floor of the University Community Center (UCC) in room 311, the Center offers a modern study lounge, conference room, and private meeting space with computers, Wi-Fi access, and a knowledgeable staff to help negotiate the many adult learner and veteran school services, resources, and benefits available with ease. The Center, currently under the stewardship of Interim Director Sherry Robinson, plans to continue to grow its services to provide a broad range of resources for adult learners and veteran students both academically and professionally.

The Center for Adult Learners and Veterans Dedication Ceremony and Open House is free and open to the public and the media.
