UWG Staff Advisory Council Toy Drive Another Great Success

by Sheryl Marlar

UWG Staff Advisory Council Toy Drive Another Great SuccessMany families struggle this time of year to provide a happy holiday for their families. Thanks to the generosity of the University of West Georgia community, the pressures that sometime come along with the holiday season will be easier this year for many local families.

The UWG Staff Advisory Council held its annual toy drive on December 11 at the Alumni House, where UWG staff were invited to bring toys to donate and enjoy light refreshments.

Over 300 toys were donated to assist the Carroll County Department of Family and Children’s Services in providing a brighter holiday season to many local children.

In addition to donating toys, the UWG community sponsored area children and worked to meet specific needs of those children.

“On behalf of the Staff Advisory Council, I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to the UWG community,” said Jeanna Lambert, chair of the SAC Public Relations Committee. “The kindness and benevolence displayed by the donation of over 300 gifts and 17 sponsored children will make a huge impact on the lives of some very deserving children.”
