UWG Star to Participate in NFL Draft Combine

An era of firsts for the University of West Georgia football program has a new entry on the list. Dominique Robertson is this week in Indianapolis as the first UWG player ever to be a part of the National Football League Combine.

UWG Star to Participate in NFL Draft CombineRobertson, a 6-5, 305-pound offensive tackle from Redlands, California, is in Indianapolis with other top, draft eligible prospects from around the nation. He will take part in a variety of activities, tests and screenings, and on-field drills for offensive line prospects.

Combine activities officially began on February 24 with media interviews for offensive linemen, running backs, and special teamers. Prospects will also be measured and go through their official weigh-in.

On February 26, the activities will move to the field at Lucas Oil Stadium. Robertson and other linemen will have a regimen that includes the 40-yard dash, bench press, vertical jump, broad jump, three-cone drill, and the shuttle run.

Robertson's interest from NFL scouts began before his transfer to West Georgia for his senior season in 2015. His performance on the field last year only served to heighten that interest as Robertson earned an array of postseason honors. He was named a first team All-American by USA College Football and d2football.com and was chosen a second team selection by Don Hansen. That capped off a list of honors that also included All-Gulf South Conference and All-Super Region 2 notice.

The 2016 NFL Draft is set for April 28-30 in Chicago.
