“Post-doctoral fellows, forces behind major discoveries in research, are very rare at UWG, and Dr. Mamidala is the only one in recent years,” said Dr. Mruthinti. “We are fortunate to have such a dedicated scientist to work with our undergraduate and graduate students.”

Dr. Mamidala has extensive research experience in biomedical research, published over 50 peer-reviewed research papers, and presented at several national and international research conferences. He is also directing graduate thesis work of 10 Master of Philosophy students and three Ph.D. students at his parent institution. At UWG, he will be working on the ongoing research projects in Dr. Mruthinti’s laboratory and also help train graduate and undergraduate students.

“I am delighted that Dr. Mamidala is at West Georgia for a year,” said Dean of COSM Dr. Farooq Khan. “He will make a valuable contribution to support undergraduate and graduate research, key endeavors in the COSM.”
