Newnan MSN Student Plans to Inspire Future Nurses

Newnan MSN Student Plans to Inspire Future NursesMeet Tammy Paschal of Newnan, a student in the MSN Nurse Educator online program at UWG. Tammy chose UWG because its nursing program has an excellent reputation. The Newnan location allows her to continue working in an impatient hospice facility and still make her classes.

According to Tammy, the staff and teachers at the Newnan campus are what make it special. “They are consistent in their encouragement and support of students,” she adds.

When she had a problem with her laptop, she took it to Newnan’s IT department where it was fixed in just two days. “The staff is professional, friendly and informative,” Tammy says. “The teachers want you to succeed and are willing to help you.”

When asked what she has gained from UWG, Tammy had nothing but good things to say. “I have gained an education that will last my lifetime,” she says. “I have gained friends, confidence and skills in order to practice my profession. I have been given the opportunity to excel, to cultivate my mind, grow in diversity and experience college life. I am thankful for everything UWG has allowed me to achieve.”

And she has no plans to stop now. Tammy plans to give back by teaching at the college level. “It’s important to me that nurses are inspired to be compassionate, caring and thankful,” she says. She believes that the best way to do that is to exhibit a positive attitude to nursing students, and to show that nurses can make an impact on the lives of others.

“UWG made a difference in my life, and I want to do that for others,” Tammy concludes. “I believe I can make a difference.”
