This summer, 12 French students from the France Business School studied abroad and took courses at the Richards College of Business at the University of West Georgia.
The students stayed on campus during May and June, and took classes at the Richards College of Business. During May the students took Employment Law and Business in the United States and visited many companies. The students had the opportunity to tour a variety of companies including Southwire, Tanner Medical Center, the Cable News Network, Walmart.com, KIA Plant, The Coca-Cola Company Headquarters and many more.
“We are visiting companies like The Coca-Cola Company Headquarters and the Cable News Network, so it’s a very good thing to see how the different companies work in the United States,” says Jocelyn Picard, student from France Business School.
While the students attended the university, they had the opportunity to take two courses of their choice during June. “I took Principles of Marketing and Operations Management,” says Jocelyn. “We had the same courses in France, but here it’s in English, so I think that was a good thing.”
Although the students were only in the U.S. for a short time, they said one of the biggest differences between America and France are the people.
“American people are very nice, and they just come and talk to you,” says Aude Boissiere, France Business School student. “In France, I think it’s very different because the people don’t just come and talk to people in the streets, and I like that about the United States.”
The students were excited to take classes at the University of West Georgia, and looked forward to finding out what America had to offer. “I’m very happy. It was a good experience for us,” says Aude.
