November Happenings

by Frank Pritchett '88 '92

November Happenings Fall semester is winding down and November is a time of reflection and thanksgiving. At the UWG Alumni Association, we are indebted to our great engaged alumni who work with us to create opportunities for student success, academic success, collaborative partnerships, and operational success. It really is all about transforming students’ lives. It is what inspires our noble cause to ask for gifts to support student scholarships.

Your alumni staff will be on the road this month with events in San Francisco on November 5 and Los Angeles on November 6. During November 19-21, we will be in the beautiful port city of Savannah to attend a professional conference where Kevin Hemphill and I will present on our new student leadership organization, Blue Coats. Meredith Ledbetter will also host a cocktail reception at the Desoto Hilton on the evening of November 19. If you’re in these areas, plan to drop in and see us. Alumni can visit www.westga.edu/alumni/rsvp to see all events that are currently on the calendar and to register for those they want to attend.

November is also the month for dreaming. West Georgia, as of this writing, stands 6-2 in football and has the opportunity to close out the regular season with a stellar 9-2 campaign. In coach Will Hall’s inaugural season, the Wolves have put themselves into a situation where earning a playoff bid is a possibility. Be sure to follow athletics on uwgsports.com. Go West. Go Wolves!

On behalf of the entire Alumni Association team and our valued volunteers, have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!

Frank Pritchett is the director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving.
