Making the Connection, by Frank Pritchett '88 '92

Maintaining and nurturing healthy relationships with UWG’s alumni serves as the foundation of all we do at the Alumni House to better serve and connect with our growing number of graduates. We are in the midst of a concerted movement to improve and increase engagement through a range of programming – most notably through our newly launched Alumni Networks.

Frank PritchettThese Alumni Networks will assist us with better communication streams with alumni in certain geographic locations as we continue to explore new networks that will be based on location and interests. We can’t do this alone. We need you to be our agents in the field to help us cultivate and sow seeds, identify alumni with affinity for UWG, and support our efforts with programming that is meaningful to you and your communities.

Each network will have a local alum who will serve as the liaison between the Alumni Relations Office and alumni in any particular network, as well as a small committee of alumni who will serve with the liaison. All networks have social and professional media hubs, like Facebook and LinkedIn, and email listservs.

We now have networks in Atlanta (ITP), Cobb, Coweta, Carroll, Gwinnett, Los Angeles and San Francisco. If you live and/or work in these areas, send us an email at alumni@westga.edu so we can share important info about your network. You may also easily find interactive maps on our website to illustrate where our concentration of alumni live. All network links can be easily found at http://www.westga.edu/development/47.php.

These are exciting times at UWG. Attendance is up at events and alumni want to be a more integral part of the fabric of West Georgia. Join us today as we build a world-class comprehensive university – one that will add value to your degree. Go West, Go Wolves!

Frank Pritchett is the director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving.
